Machining Between Walls

One of the most important advantages of the GROOVE-TURN systems is the ability to machine between walls. To achieve the best results, the following sequence is recommended:

Roughing
Plunge to depth of cut. Pull back 0.2 mm radially. Turn longitudinally; retract at the end of the cut by 0.2 mm simultaneously in radial and axial directions. Plunge again and repeat the same cycle, leaving steps of 0.2 mm at the shoulders for the finishing cut. Minimum DOC has to be ap≥R (corner radius).

Finishing
Plunge on the right side, reaching the tangent of the bottom radius.
Retract and relieve the tangent point of the other side radius.
Retract and machine the entire contour, pulling back by compensation value along the bottom.
